ALL  ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Kristen Phillips. I'm so proud to be teaching Kindergarten at Harvey Elementary! This will be my sixth year at Harvey and my eighteenth year teaching. I have experience teaching kindergarten and third grade. 

I was born in Sarasota, Florida and have lived in the area all of my life. I attended all Manatee County Schools growing up. I went on to attend the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!) where I received my Bachelor's Degree and later returned for my Master's Degree in Reading Education. I'm following in the footsteps of my mom, an amazing retired educator, who taught in Manatee County for 35 years. 

I am happily married to Ryan and we have two beautiful daughters. My oldest daughter, Reese, will be leaving me and starting her middle school journey!  My youngest daughter, Emery, will be starting fourth grade this year. 

Kindergarten is such an important year. Communication is key and together we will create a positive foundation for the many years of school and learning to come. I know it is going to be a great school year. I look forward to meeting and working with you and your families throughout the year!
